I enjoy saying it: I painted my first picture in an art gallery... Well, in what would become a contemporary art gallery a few years later; at the time, however (this was in the 1980s) it was a large bourgeois apartment that I was renting...

In those days, I was a university student in vegetal biology, a science that is still part of my work, since I sometimes use plants in my creations. I left the university for teachers college, while continuing to do abstract paintings. I became a schoolteacher, and began thinking about the alteration of eyesight through geometrical elements added on painted media. In the late 1990s, I created my first geometrical sculptures, which are colourful, moveable, transformable, and which hint at my later paintings on wood in the same artistic vein.
