Mocci Exhibition1 Feb > 15 Mar 12Jean-Pierre Mocci was born in 1952; he has lived in Provence since the age of 8. A selftaught artist, he became passionate with fine arts, painting and artistic crafts. He created oil paintings and watercolours, sculptures and bronzes, as well as ceramics. Art lovers are particularly moved by Moccis paintings of his Provence surroundings. From Sainte Victoire to the Baux-de-Provence, he catches the light in lavender, sunflower or poppy fields. His artistic musings take him to the Camargue region, where he captures bulls and horses in endless swampy landscapes. He also enjoys painting the Arlésiennes, mythical figures from the Provence region. Mocci also loves the circushe paints sad or cheerful clowns. His touch is both soft and powerful, giving expression to faces and colour to costumes. The talented Mocci places in the same league as famous painters from the Provence school, which is rich and colourful. His technique, inspired by watercolour, adds refinement and softness to his work. Thanks to his wide-ranging repertoire and his unique style, Jean-Pierre Mocci has earned international renown; his works are part of many private collections.
