Jacques Bühlmann

Often nicknamed Bouli, Jacques Bühlmann is a Vouvry-born self-taught artist who has been painting for twenty years. Influenced by the Naïve School of former Yugoslavia, he really found his style in 2003 with mountain landscapes of all sizes and in all seasons, which are easily recognizable thanks to the black trees and people showing their backs.
Whether in oil or gouache, his paintings take the visitor to luminous winter landscapes, to the cottony silence of snow, to a world in which time seems to be suspended. A few farms, a village far away, naked and snow-whitened trees, a few children on sleds, a snowman, an old man with a black hat and orange scarfall lead to an enchanted world. Everybody will find childhood emotions and memories in this naïve and refined painting.
