Giorgio Benedetti was born in Pirano d'Istria (Piran) in 1949.

He obtained his maestro d'arte secondary school-leaving certificate from the Istituto d'Arte in Udine in 1968.

He has a studio with a permanent exhibition in Cividale del Friuli (province of Udine).

He has participated in numerous symposia on wood, stone, snow or ice sculpting, in italy and abroad, and has won many prizes and accolades. He has also held several solo exhibitions in Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

His works of art are in public and private collections in Italy and worldwide.

His work has been referred to in newspapers, specialist publications and TV programmes.
